Public Meeting to explore a Neighbourhood Plan for St Philips Marsh.
When: Thursday 23rd May 6:30 pm
Where: Barton Hill Settlement, 43 Ducie Rd, Bristol BS5 0AX
Bristol City Council is introducing a local plan for St Philips Marsh. This proposes a radical change for the area, introducing housing, retail, health, leisure and improved transport links. The plan presents challenges to existing users but also big opportunities for the city.
Bristol City Council held a public consultation on April 30th, and many people attending wanted to shape these changes. Follow up in the community suggests this desire has grown – to the extent that we could form a Neighbourhood Forum and develop a Neighbourhood Plan.
Thursday’s meeting is to kick off the process to form the Neighbourhood Forum.
The meeting will look to identify who is interested in forming the Neighbourhood Forum based on the idea of
– Seven Independents including experts, local Politicians [Ward Councillors have to represented]
– Seven Business and Employee representatives
– Seven Resident representatives
The meeting will also look at the area the Plan will cover, a timetable for the early work, and ways to keep everyone informed.
No final decisions will be made, and if you cannot make the meeting, we will let you know what’s discussed and what happens next.
