The Volunteers' Forum
|
The Volunteers’ Forum has been meeting
since September 2003. It usually meets once a month and allows volunteers to get
together and discuss ideas.
It aims to:
- Build the confidence of local
resident volunteers.
- Be a place where volunteers can
network.
- Be a space where volunteers can “have
their say”.
- Discuss projects being developed
locally.
- Plan and organise events and
activities for volunteers.
- Be a place where volunteers can check
out and challenge the regeneration process.
- Be a lobbying and campaigning group
for better volunteer policy, procedures and practices.
- Create a united community spirit to
tackle local problems and generate ideas.
- Be a catalyst for the career
progression of local resident volunteers.
- Develop greater awareness of the
needs of volunteers.
Anyone can be a member of the
Volunteers’ Forum: we value everyone’s contribution equally and we want the
Forum to be a focus for all local volunteers.
