How it works

Got something to swap?

If you would like to put something on the web page to swap, please telephone the Time for Action office on 954 8885, or send an email to lauram@bartonhillsettlement.org.uk.  You will need to give a description of the object that you have and some examples of things you would like to swap it for (e.g. "I have a Barbara Cartland novel/ 3 foot teddy bear/ pair of size 7 Nike trainers/ chair with three legs, and I  would like to swap it for a book on allotment gardening/ a Kylie CD/ a man’s mountain bike/ a lampshade with tassles"). We would also like to put a photograph on the website, and we have volunteers who would be able to come out to your home to take a picture with a digital camera (or you could email us a photo if you were able to).

Want something that's on offer? 

If you would like something that is being offered on the website, and you have one of the things the person would like to swap it with, please telephone the office and we will arrange for the swap to take place.  Even if you don’t have one of the things they are asking for, we can telephone the person to see whether they’d like the thing you are offering in exchange.

Please try to make sure anything you offer is in good working order and is clean (e.g. clothing).

Important notice

Please note that we cannot store any goods at Barton Hill Settlement. You will need to keep them at home until someone requests them, and then we can put you in contact with that person to arrange the swap.
