There are many hundreds of people involved in the Settlement, from service users, through staff and volunteers, to supporters.

This section gives some information about some of those people.  For more information, as well as ideas about how you may get involved at the Settlement, please get in touch.

People who come to the Settlement Hundreds of people come to the Settlement every day...people like you!

Settlement Management Committee

The "SMC" is the voluntary governing body of the organisation, elected annually, and made up primarily of local people.

The SMC currently has 16 elected members, and the Chair is Tony Dempsey.

Staff Team

There are currently around 60 paid workers at the Settlement, as well as many sessional tutors, crèche workers, etc.

Volunteers

As well as the various management committees, all of which are voluntary, the Settlement benefits from the efforts of many other volunteers.

Some volunteers contribute to the delivery of our services (maybe helping Computer Room users, preparing meals for the Over 50s Lunch Club, or delivering leaflets), whilst others participate in the Volunteers' Forum.

For more information, and ideas about how you may be able to help the work of the Settlement, see the Volunteers' pages, or contact the Volunteer Coordination Unit on 0117 955 6971, or email  David MacDonald.
